Two Vodafone Foundation programmes designed and delivered by Afya Global.
Vodafone Foundation relied upon Afya Global to design and manage their M-MAMA maternal health programme in rural Tanzania. It has achieved a 27% reduction in maternal deaths by using mobile to manage ambulances and taxis to transport women and babies in obstetric emergency.
Rural Clinics for Primary Care & HIV in Lesotho — Afya Global have managed Vodafone Foundation's design, funding, partnership creation and delivery of the M-HIT programme. The programme relied upon 7 funding and implementing partners, including investment by the Lesotho Ministry of Health from year one. Over 150 rural communities now receive regular primary care including vaccines and paediatric HIV care and treatment. This cost-effective programme is now entirely sustained by the Ministry of Health in Lesotho.
